The CanineSNP20 BeadChip presents a cost-effective and high-quality genotyping solution for researchers conducting genome-wide association studies within domestic dog breeds. The BeadChip was developed through Illumina's iSelect program in collaboration with researchers at the Broad Institute who completed the assembly of the canine genome, CanFam2.02, and presented the first comprehensive and high-quality reference sequence for the domestic dog. This BeadChip contains 22,362 validated SNP probes derived from the CanFam2.0 assembly, and features an average of eight SNPs per megabase (Mb), providing ample density for robust within-breed association studies.
