Frequently asked questions about AmpliSeq for Illumina

Answers about the portfolio, components, customization, analysis, and technical support

AmpliSeq for Illumina is a suite of AmpliSeq chemistry products that are compatible with Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms. These products are only sold by Illumina and the complete workflow, from design to analysis, is supported by Illumina.

The AmpliSeq assay requires three components - library preparation reagents, panel, and indexes. Products in each category are available from Illumina. For more information on which panels are available, visit Ready-to-Use AmpliSeq for Illumina Sequencing Panels.

If the AmpliSeq for Illumina Ready-to-Use Panels are not a fit for your needs, you can order an AmpliSeq for Illumina Community Panel or create your own AmpliSeq for Illumina Custom Panel through DesignStudio. DesignStudio is a free, easy-to-use, online assay design tool for custom panel creation. Sign-up is required.

AmpliSeq for Illumina Ready-to-Use Panels are predesigned, synthesized panels that are available in small reaction sizes (usually 24 reactions). AmpliSeq for Illumina Community Panels have been predesigned with input from leading disease researchers and are made to order (larger reaction sizes).

Illumina provides a suite of analysis solutions for different variants in both cloud (BaseSpace Sequence Hub apps) and local solutions.
