Overview

NextSeq 500/550 v2.5 Kits deliver the power of high-throughput sequencing on the NextSeq 550 System. The v2.5 kits retain the same pre-filled, ready-to-use reagent cartridges as the v2 kits and offer improvements that provide increases in stability, robustness, and performance. The v2.5 kits offer: 

  • An optimized flow cell that maintains starting fluorescent intensity, resulting in improved performance throughout the run

  • A more resilient flow cell able to withstand higher humidity, heat, and prolonged storage

  • Continued use of proven v2 reagent and buffer cartridges for exceptional accuracy for a broad range of methods

  • High- and mid-output sequencing options to support dynamic capacity needs and faster turnaround times

  • Radio-frequency identification (RFID)–encoded consumables to ensure reagent traceability and compatibility

This product is also available as an Illumina Advantage (TG) product. Illumina Advantage large-scale sequencing products feature lot-specific shipments and testing, extended shelf life, and advanced change notifications for greater laboratory efficiency.

Users can sequence 1–12 exomes, 1–16 transcriptomes, 6–96 targeted panels, or 12–40 gene expression profiling samples per run on the NextSeq 550 System. 

The NextSeq 550 flow cell is a non-patterned flow cell with distinct nanowells of varied sizes, undefined shapes, and irregular spacing for use in cluster generation. Prepared libraries are loaded onto the flow cell, which is then loaded into the NextSeq 550 System for cluster generation and sequencing. 

One flow cell can be run on the NextSeq 550 System.

An update to NextSeq Control Software (NCS 2.2.0) is required to run the NextSeq v2.5 sequencing reagent kits.
