PhiX (New dataset 2 x 250 bp)

The PhiX bacteriophage genome was sequenced on the MiSeq using the new 2 x 250  read length configuration using TruSeq  sample preparation kits. The total yield is 8.35 Gb and 87.96% of bases are at or above Q30.

E. coli strain DH10B
E. coli strain DH10B was sequenced on a prototype MiSeq system and compared with publicly-available sequences from the Ion Torrent PGM using the 316 chip. Sequence data from the MiSeq system is of better quality and higher yield, with even coverage over a range of GC content.

B. cereus NC_003909.8 (New dataset 2 x 250 bp)

The B. cereus sample was sequenced data sequenced on the MiSeq using the new 2 x 250 read length configuration and TruSeq Dual Indexing kits.  The flow cell contained 24 multiplexed samples resulting in a total yield of 7.68 Gb with 89.04% of bases at or above Q30. The average fragment length for this data set is 600 bp. Data from all 24 samples are provided here.

E. coli strain MG1655
E. coli strain MG1655 was sequenced on a prototype MiSeq system and on the HiSeq 2000 system. Both platforms yield high quality sequence data with > 85% bases above Q30 and even coverage over GC content. De novo genome assemblies also produce similar results, with excellent coverage of the reference sequence.
