Library Prep Automation

Automation Methods that Span Our Library Prep Portfolio

Minimize errors, reduce hands-on time, and enable higher throughput

Automate Your Library Prep

Automated liquid handling systems help laboratories obtain and maintain consistent results while driving efficiency. Automation also allows for the rapid scaling of throughput without the need for additional hands-on time.

Automation partners

Illumina has partnered with leading automation vendors to help provide automated methods for our library prep kits on their flagship systems. Combining their automation knowledge with our library prep and sequencing expertise helps create a valuable solution for NGS configured automated systems.

Illumina Qualified methods

Illumina Qualified methods are available for most of our library prep portfolio. These methods are developed, tested, distributed, owned, and supported by our partners. Illumina reviews data to ensure method performance and data quality.

Vendor developed methods

Vendor developed methods are those that have been developed by a partner, but have not undergone data review by Illumina. These methods are included on the chart below, but do not have the Illumina Qualified identifier.

Starting in January 2022 Hamilton will refer to the NGS STAR configuration for TruSight Oncology library preparations as the SBS STAR LSA. All existing Illumina Qualified methods are backwards compatible and will continue to run on this system as this change is in name only.

*In order to accommodate for higher dead volume requirements associated with automated platforms and variation in overfill volumes by the original reagent manufacturer, more than one AmpliSeq for Illumina kit may be required when preparing the maximum number of libraries per kit.
