Jong Hwa graduated from the Seoul National University in 2015 as a Ph.D in Plant Biology. Prior to joining Illumina, he worked in NICEM in Seoul National University as a senior researcher for NGS Bioinformatics. Jong Hwa joined Illumina as a Technical Applications Scientist in May 2017. Since then, he has developed a specialization in providing technical support for the NGS bioinformatics queue.

The DRAGEN Platform enables labs of all sizes and disciplines to do more with their genomic data. The DRAGEN Platform uses highly reconfigurable field-programmable gate array technology (FPGA) to provide hardware-accelerated implementations of genomic analysis algorithms. Fundamental features of the DRAGEN Platform address common challenges in genomic analysis, such as lengthy compute times and massive volumes of data.
