Candidate cellular protein target identification (PD-Seq) is a protocol that can detect protein-protein interactions. In this method, apigenin is coupled to amino polyethyleneglycol-polyacrylamide copolymer beads (PEGA beads) after activation with 4-nitro-phenyl bromoacetate. The apigenin-loaded beads are used for screening phage display cDNA library generated from human breast cancer tumor cells mRNA. After three rounds, the fractions are used to make libraries and sequenced on the Illumina platform.
